This piece started as a series of experiments to investigate a new means of joinery through the fusing of melted materials onto metal and wood.

Pewter was the most intriguing material that stood out to me; the way it took on its own unique shapes as it enveloped the steel frame. I wanted to allow the molten pewter freedom to act as it pleased so the pewter was poured from a height to then flow and bubble through all the nooks. What resulted was a table top with diverse textures, air pockets and puddles of shining pewter.
